Lance L. Storey, Sr., age 63, Commerce Oklahoma, died at 9:40 am today at Baptist Regional Health Center after a long illness. Mr. Storey was born Oct 7, 1923, in Oberlin Louisiana, and had lived in the Miami-Commerce area most of his life. He was a club operator, having run the "Y" Club in Commerce for 30 years. Mr. Storey served with the U.S. Marines in World War II and Korea and was a member of the VFW and the AmVets. Survivors include a son, Lance L. Storey, jr., Miami; a daughter, Cheryl Storey, Grove City Pennsylvania; five brothers, Lenneox Storey, Lomeir Storey, Lettius Storey, Leonard Storey and John Storey, all of the state of Louisiana; four sisters, Mrs. Alberta Wagoner, state of Louisiana, Mrs. Ruth Mol, San Gabriel California, Mrs. Rachel Steward, Covington Louisiana, and Mrs. Shirley McKnight, Shreveport Louisiana; and four grandchildren. Services for Lance L. Storey, Sr. will be at 10 am, Monday at the Jim Thomas and son funeral home chapel, Commerce Oklahoma with Rev. Clyde Stilley officiating. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery, Miami. Pallbearers will be Glenn Sturgis, Terry Sturgis, Gene Matthews, John Cornog, Cecil Myers and Scott Blizzard. Military rites conducted by four area military service organizations. Mr. Storey, 63, commerce, died Thursday.
