chief machinists mate, U.S.N. has been killed in an airplane crash at Norfolk Virginia where he was stationed, his mother, Mrs. Bonnie Stoner, 120 First avenue southeast, was notified Saturday. Details of the accident were lacking, friends here said. several other brothers are in the service. Mr. Stoner is survived by his wife, Mrs. Agnes Stoner; his mother; Pfc Reed Stoner, U.S.A., now in North Africa; Staff Sgt Clifford Stoner, Roswell New Mexico; Paul Stoner, U.S.N. Davisville Rhode Island, and Henry Stoner, Seneca Missouri, all of whom are his brothers; Mrs. Pauline Smith, whose husband, a staff sergeant is attached at Ft. Riley Kansas; Mrs. Fayrell Robinson, Oklahoma city Oklahoma; Mrs. Raymond smith, whose husband is a naval recruiter, at Ft. Logan Colorado; and Miss Phylis Stoner, of the home. Friends said they were informed Mr. Stoner was killed line of duty.

--- Funeral services for Fred Edward Stoner, killed in a naval air crash at Norfolk Virginia will be held Saturday at 2 pm at the First Baptist church, the Rev. H. E. Kirkpatrick officiating. the American legion quartet will sing and members of the Legion and Veterans of foreign Wars will conduct military rites. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery, the Lane funeral home conducting.
