Smith, Luther C. "Doc"

age 79, of Miami, died Aug 8, 2001, at a Joplin Missouri hospital after a brief illness. A photograph. Born Nov 14, 1921, at Fort Stockton Texas to Leonard Smith and Mary Ickes Smith. He lived in Miami for the past 42 years. He received his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Colorado State University. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserves. He was a self-employed veterinarian for 27 years. Burial in the G.A.R. cemetery at Miami.
