age 19, a photo, was killed in action in Vietnam on Friday. Pfc Robinson, a member of Co. D. 322 Infantry 25th Division was on patrol with his unit when they encountered hostile fire, the parents were informed. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Robinson were notified during the Christmas weekend about his death. Robinson attended school at Claremore Oklahoma until his senior year when his family moved to Miami. he was graduated from MHS in 1966 and attended northeastern A&M one semester. he was active in athletics. He entered the army last Feb 8 and arrived in Vietnam on Aug 12. Robinson's father is sales manager of the Newell Coach Division of Miami Products, Inc. in North Miami and was formerly associated with Kissee Motor Co. A brother, Ronnie Robinson, a student at Northeastern State college, Tahlequah Oklahoma, also survives. the News Record printed a letter Monday in which Robinson expressed appreciation for packages and a letter he had received from Miami students through the WECOB II, "We Care for Our Boys" project of the MHS junior class. In it he thanked the students for paperback books they had sent. "You can lose yourself in a book and almost forget where you are. Reading sure helps pass the time as well as take your mind off the war for a few minutes," he wrote. "I hope to get a chance to spend the next Christmas with my family. I miss them a great deal, and for men, Christmas will be next August when I go back home. Robinson was the second Miamian to be killed in action this month in Vietnam. Sgt. Drew Shipley, 21, son of Mrs. Lois Shipley, 10032 B northeast, was killed on Dec 8. the body will be received by the Jim Thomas funeral home of Miami.

--- Final rites will be held at 2pm Friday at the First Methodist church. the Rev. J. Clifton Sproons will officiate. Pallbearers will be Bill Dost, Lysle Harrington, Bud McNabb, Leroy Peck, Gob Taylor and Gene Jennison. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery, with military rite at graveside. Arrangement are under direction of the Jim Thomas funeral home of Miami.
