Stanford E. Lowe, 72, of 407 North Cherry, Commerce Oklahoma, died Wednesday afternoon at the Muskogee Oklahoma Veteran's hospital where he had been a patient for several days. Born in Ellismore Missouri, Jun 26, 1899, Mr. Lowe resided in Miami from 1949 until moving to Commerce four years ago. He was a retired miner. A member of the Miami American Legion post, he was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie Lee Lowe of the home, one stepdaughter, Mrs. Wilma Romine, Miami, Rt 2; two step-sons, John Brewer Lowe, Los Angeles California, and Willie Brewer, North Hollywood California; two brothers, Leonard Lowe, Cushing Oklahoma, and Ben Lowe, Keifer Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Services will be held Friday at 2 pm at the Paul Thomas Chapel in Picher with the Rev. Roy Carney officiating. Burial will be in the G.A.R. cemetery, Miami. Pallbearers will be Steve Romine, Webster Douglas, James Holderfield, Frank Romine, Paul Anke and Orville McCoy. The family will be at home at the J. C. Romine at the east edge of Commerce and Highway 66.
