2029 A NE, Miami, died at 2:15 pm Friday, May 29, 1998, at Miami Baptist Regional Health Center, after an illness. He was 70. Mr. Hodges was born May 24, 1928, at Hockerville Oklahoma to Fayette Hodges and Bessie Pendleton Hodges. He had lived in Miami since 1978, moving from Cardin Oklahoma. He worked for Eagle-Picher Mining Company for 20 years and later for U.S. Metal Container company in Miami, retiring in 1991. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hodges was a member of the VFW Post in Miami and attended the Baptist church. He married Billie Louise Wolfe on Mar 8, 1950, at Bentonville Arkansas. She survives, of the home. Additional survivors include a son, Micheal Hodges, Parson Kansas; a daughter, Melinda King, Tulsa; four sisters, Dorothy Madden, Baxter Springs Kansas, Mildred Wilson, Californian, Norma Watt, Sapulpa Oklahoma, and Lois Janitti, Kellogg Idaho, and two grandchildren, Ashley King and Zachary King, both of Tulsa. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Mason and Avis Shipman. Graveside services will be Monday, Jun 1, 1998, at G.A.R. cemetery at Miami with the Rev. Clyde Stilley officiating. The family will receive friends today from 3 to 4 pm at the Paul Thomas funeral home of Picher.
