born May 7, 1844, passed quietly to that other bourne from which none return at 11:55 am yesterday, the 14th day of May 1912, age 68 years and 7 days. Comrade Haywood Harper was a soldier of Co. H of the 16th Missouri Cavalry. He served about one year receiving an honorable discharge. Ah, well, the years sweep swiftly on Death's sickle does not, may not, rest, and shall not spare the brave, the best, for any prayer, for any man. The services will be conducted by the J. B. McPherson Post G.A.R. at 2 pm today. Rev J. J. Bay will preach the sermon. Members of the Post are earnestly requested to meet at the Post room at 1:30 pm today.
