age 79, died Oct 24, 2001, at Miami hospital. Born Feb 5, 1922, in North Miami Oklahoma to James Clinton Conner and Alice Eva Buck Conner. A veteran, he served in the Army during World War II. He attended and received a certificate of appreciation for the Thank You America from France on Oct 17, 2001, in Claremore Oklahoma. He owned and operated Carl Conner's Used Cars in Miami from 1961 to 1972 and C & M Carpets of Miami from 1969 to 1972, until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the DAV and the American Legion Post 147 of Miami. He attended Southeast Baptist church, Miami. Married Marzell S. Thompson on Dec 6, 1946, in Columbus Kansas, she survives. Additional survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Carl Murphy and Ron Murphy and Janet Glenn and Larry Glenn, all of Miami; eight grandchildren, Amy Dodge, Dwayne Brummet, Benn Stovall, Courtney Murphy, Lisa Conner, Johnny Steverson, Christie Conner and Phyllis Wolf; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Carl Franklin Conner, Jr. in 1952, and Clinton Morgan Conner in 1996; a daughter, Phyllis Joyce Conner in 1972; his parents, Clinton Conner and Alice Conner; and his stepmother, Nora Conner. Pallbearers are Bill Rion, Everett Stamback, George Clinton and Greg Osborn...Burial in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami.
