Picher Oklahoma, Oct 28. Mrs. Mary Chazell of Picher has received word that the body of her son, Private Bert Leroy Chazell, who died in action in France four years ago, will arrive in Miami Saturday for final rites and interment. Private Chazell lived in Picher where he attended school and was a member of the voluntary fire fighting crew. He was killed Sep 13, 1944, after less than two months overseas service. He was 18 years old. Other survivors include two brothers, Junior Chazell of Picher and Carl Chazell of Cardin Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Saggert and Mrs. Pearl Fenton, both of Picher. The local American Legion post will be in charge of funeral arrangements, which will be announced by the Goodson-Durnil funeral home.

Funeral services for the late Pvt. Bert Leroy Chazell, who was killed in action at the age of 19 years in France, four years ago, will be conducted by the Rev. C. B. Carter at the Carter Undenominational church in Picher at 2 pm on Monday. The Rev. J. H. Mott will assist. Pallbearers will be Jessie Bogard, Carol Gerbart, Jack Kelly, Thurman Walker, Gene Darnell and Junior Johnson. The American Legion post of Picher will conduct military rites at the grave in G.A.R. cemetery, Miami. Re-burial will be under direction of the Goodson-Durnil funeral home.
