Abstract Data

Witten, an employee of Fenix and Scisson Construction Company of Tulsa Oklahoma and a 31 year resident of Commerce, died Saturday in Joplin. A native of Smithfield Missouri, Witten came to Commerce from Carl Junction Missouri in 1933. He formerly worked 25 years for the Eagle-Picher Mining Company. He was a member of the Commerce School Board from 1941 to 1952. Surviving are the widow Tressie Witten; four sons, including Edward Witten and Cecil Witten, both of Commerce; a daughter, Mrs. Donna Wooley, Commerce; a brother; a sister, Mrs. Fertussel, Joplin, and 12 grandchildren.
