A retired hard rock lead and zinc miner who had lived at Picher Oklahoma for 53 years, died at 7:10 am today in a Miami nursing home. A retired miner, he was 72. Mr. Winans, resided at 305 East 11th, Picher Oklahoma. He was born Mar 3, 1898, in Indiana. He was a member of the Pentecostal church. Surviving are a brother, Jasper R. Winans, Picher, and two sisters, Mrs. Marie R. Morris, and Mrs. Nellie Henson, both of Lanagan Missouri. The body was received by the Paul Thomas funeral home of Picher.

Services will be held at 2 pm Friday in the Chapel of Paul Thomas funeral home, Picher. Mr. Winans died Wednesday morning. The Rev. Leslie Couch, Jr., will officiate. Interment will be in the G.A.R. cemetery, Miami. Pallbearers will be Herbert George, Earl Hand, Francis Crockett, Earl Todd, Clarence Howell and James Lawhead.
