Abstract Data

Funeral services for Fred White, 73 year old lead and zinc miner operator, will be conducted in the Mitchelson mortuary in Commerce at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Franklin Simmons will officiate. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery, Miami. White, whose home was west of Cardin Oklahoma, died Tuesday morning in the Picher hospital where he had been a patient since Saturday. A resident of the Tri-State district for more than 35 years, White had been engaged in mining in the Picher field since 1921 and the Liza Jane Mine was among his several operations. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jimmy Noel, Prairie Village Kansas; two brothers, Steve White, Concordia Kansas, and Jack White, Bartlesville Oklahoma, and two grandchildren.
