The death of Byron A. White, 68 year old former Miami mining company official, in San Diego California, Thursday was reported here Saturday. He died at 10 o'clock Thursday night in a San Diego hospital, where he was admitted a month ago. A resident of Miami for 31 years, White was cashier and office manager for the Commerce Mining and Royalty Company during 24 years he spent with the firm before its consolidation with the Eagle-Picher Mining and Smelting Company. For the next six years he served in a similar capacity with the Eagle-Picher firm before retiring and moving to California in 1945. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Delta White; two sons, Carl White and Rex White, both of San Diego; a brother and sister. Mrs. White was a recent Miami visitor. White served as a deacon in the First Baptist church here and also was the church clerk for many years. He was a member of the Blue Lodge and the Commander of Miami A. F. and A. M. No. 140. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Benburghs mortuary in San Diego. Burial will be in a San Diego cemetery.
