long identified with the zinc industry, died at his home in Philadelphia, recently of heart failure. Mr. Wetherill was a leading figure in the merging of several zinc companies of Pennsylvania and New Jersey into what is now the New Jersey Zinc Company, New York, one of the largest organizations of its kind in the world. Until a decade ago, he was a director in the organization. Mr. Wetherill was born in Saugerties New York, May 17, 1846. Upon coming of age he went into the business of manufacturing and selling paints. Later he became associated with his brother, the late John Price Wetherill, and August Heckscher, and they founded the Lehigh Zinc and Iron Company, South Bethlehem Pennsylvania. That organization was among the several others that later were to be merged into the New Jersey Zinc Company
