60 years old, well-known in Tri-State district mining circles, died at 6:45 Sunday night at his Rockdale home, in Miami. He had lived here continuously for the last five years. Mr. West was one of the original stockholders and managers of the old Lucky Jew Mine, located in Cherokee county Kansas. Prior to that time he was in the lumber business at Kansas City. Many years ago he was associated with the Santa Fe Railroad. He worked for that company in Mexico City at one time. He is survived by his wife, and two sisters, Mrs. C. R. Stephens of Ottawa Ontario, and Mrs. Kathryn Sherrod of Los Angeles. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 am Wednesday at Cooper's chapel. The Rev. Louis Denninghoff will officiate. The burial site had not been determined early this afternoon. The Cooper undertaking company is in charge.
