74, 1606 Roosevelt Avenue died at 4 pm Tuesday, Dec 8, 1998, at Freeman Hospital West, Joplin, after a short illness. Mr. West was born Nov 26, 1924, in Joplin Missouri and was a lifetime resident. He worked 20 years as a lead ball mill operator for Eagle-Picher Company, Joplin. He retired in 1986. He was a member of Christ's Community United Methodist Church and a past member of Masonic Lodge No. 345. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He married Jimmie Dean Williams on Sep 14, 1993, in Joplin. She survives. Additional survivors include two sons, William West and Terry West, both of Joplin; three daughters, Margaret Mahoe, Webb City, and Kathy Vinyard and Susan Henson, both of Joplin; two stepsons, Eddie Karr, Prattville Alabama, and John Freeman Jr., Brookfield; two stepdaughters, Nanette Donahoo, Pell City Alabama, and Linda Etgen, Joplin; three brothers, Tom West, state of California, and Paul West and Jim West, both of the state of Arizona; a sister, Ruth Newberry, Joplin; nine grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great- step-grandchild. Services will be at 10 am Friday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. The Rev. Chris Sloan will officiate. Pallbearers will be Craig Cargile, Chad Cargile, Shawn Henson, Tim Bailey, Ryan West and Mathew West. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park cemetery.
