of Treece Kansas, died Thursday morning, Mar 30, 2000, at his home. He was 83 years of age. Mr. Welch was born June 12, 1916, at Galena Kansas to John Welch and Della Cooper Welch. He had lived in Treece for the past three years after moving there from Commerce Oklahoma, where he had lived for 40 years. He moved to Commerce from Douthat Oklahoma. He was a miner and had worked for the past several years as an auto mechanic. He was united in marriage to Penny H. Jackson, Sep 9, 1982 in Las Vegas Nevada. She survives of the home. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Welch, who passed away in 1973. He was also preceded in death by a son, Bill Welch. Survivors include two grandchildren, Evawn Ware, Miami, and Joey Welch, Seneca Missouri; one niece, Dorena Jackson, Miami Oklahoma; and several other nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Mr. Welch will be Monday, Apr 3, 2000 at 1:00 pm at the G.A.R. cemetery in Miami. Clayton White will give the eulogy. The family will receive friends Sunday, Apr 2, 2000 from 6:00 to 7 pm at the Paul Thomas funeral home in Picher Oklahoma.
