Charles Calam Weeden, of Miami, died Thursday, Oct, 21, 1999, at the home of his son in Seneca, after an extended illness. He was 72. Mr. Weeden was born Dec 23, 1926 in Wagoner Oklahoma, to Jasper Weeden and Sarah Belle Weeden. He had lived in the Miami area for the past eight years, moving from Minneapolis Kansas. He worked in mining and construction and attended Southeast Baptist Church in Miami. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Gretchen King, Nov 7, 1991 in Miami. She survives of the home. Preceding him in death was a son, Gary Richard Weeden. Also surviving are three sons, Tony Weeden of Seneca, Charles Weeden, Jr., of Wichita Kansas, and Ver Dale Weeden of Wichita; two daughters, Allana Pinho of Seneca and Carla McElhaney of Grove Oklahoma; a sister, Dorothea Paxson of Welch Oklahoma, 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The funeral is Monday, Oct 25, 1999, at 10 am at the Paul Thomas funeral home in Picher with the Rev. Ernie Sampson officiating. Burial in the Pleasant Valley cemetery west of Bluejacket Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Danny Weeden, Scotty Sampson, Josh Durbin, Danny Bazil, Ver Dale Weeden, and David Durbin, Jr. The family will receive friends Sunday, Oct 24, at the Paul Thomas funeral home of Picher from 4 to 5 pm.
