Abstract Data

of Miami well known mine operator of the Tri-State district, died at the home of his sister in Kansas City Missouri, Sunday afternoon. He was about 63 years old. Mr. Weaver had been a sufferer from partial paralysis and cancer of the stomach for many years. About 10 days ago he went to the Mayo clinic at Rochester Minnesota, hoping to gain relief from his suffering, but his case was considered hopeless and he was sent to the home of his sister at Kansas City. Funeral services were held Tuesday and the body sent to Indianapolis, where it will rest beside his brother's remains. Mr. Weaver was a member of the Elks and that organization had charge of the services and a delegation from the order will meet the remains at Indianapolis. W. H. Trapp of Miami, a business associate of Mr. Weaver, attended the funeral. Mr. Weaver was one of 10 children, only two of whom survive him, a sister, Mrs. Strohm of Kansas City, and a brother, George Weaver of Enid Oklahoma. Mr. Weaver began mining in the Tri-State district about 10 years ago and was successful in his operations. He was one of the principal owners of the White Mine at Picher, sold a few months ago to the Tri-State Zinc, Inc., subsidiary of the Goldfields Consolidated of South Africa. The company was a partnership composed of Otis White, K. H. Trapp, L. E. Cartwright and Mr. Weaver. The same personnel recently organized a corporation and took over a lead silver property in Arizona, which will operated under the name of the Silver-Lead Metal corporation. In his earlier life Mr. Weaver was in the circus business with one of his brothers, and accumulated a comfortable fortune in that business. A few days before his death, he made a will leaving all his property, estimated at about $250,000, to his brother and sister. He was an eccentric character and made but few personal friends. For a few years he had made his home at Hotel Miami.
