Funeral services for Walter Raymond Watson, 32 year-old employee of the Eagle-Picher Mining and Smelting company, who shot and killed himself with a .22 caliber rifle at his home in Melrose Kansas, late Friday, will be held at the First Methodist church there at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. The Reverend Orr will officiate. Watson took his life, officers said Saturday, during a period of despondency over the illness of his wife, Mrs. Mildred Watson, who was in another part of the home. Other survivors include a son, Joby Ray Watson; two brothers, Merle Watson of Melrose and Clarence Watson of Wichita Kansas; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Jones of Riverton Kansas, and his mother, Mrs. Crissi Watson of the home. Burial will be in the Oak Hill cemetery at Chetopa Kansas.
