29 year old miner of Zincville Oklahoma, is being held in Ottawa county Oklahoma jail at the request of Fairplay Colorado officers, sheriff Eli Dry said Saturday. Ward, a brother of George Ward, one-time Tri-State district bank robber, who is serving time at the state penitentiary, is wanted in Colorado for investigation into the theft of $180. Sheriff Neal H. Brown of Fairplay wrote Sheriff Dry, explaining that he has a felony warrant in his possession citing Ward. Deputy sheriffs Henry Blanton and Ed Beeson, who arrested Ward Friday afternoon while the latter was working at the Tulsa-Quapaw Mine, north of Quapaw Oklahoma, said the suspect claims he is the victim of a "frame-up," Ward told officers that the alleged theft was thoroughly investigated while he was in Colorado, around Sept 1st and that he was not held at that time. Ward is married and has one child, Joe Ebb Ward.

Ebb Ward, 29 year old Zincville miner, was on his way to Fairplay Colorado today to answer to a felony warrant filed at instigation of Sheriff Neal W. Brown of Fairplay. Sheriff Eli Dry announced that Ward was placed on the north bound Frisco train, which arrived at Miami at 2:33 pm. The Colorado sheriff was waiting for Ward when he was taken to a train coach. Dry and Deputy Blanton arrested Ward several days ago at the Tulsa-Quapaw Mine, north of Quapaw where the miner has been employed. Colorado officers said in a telegram to Sheriff Dry that Ward is suspected in the theft of $280 from a Fairplay resident.
