56, a retired miner and former Picher Oklahoma patrolman, died at 9:40 o'clock last night at the Veterans' hospital, Muskogee Oklahoma. He had been admitted to the hospital Sunday suffering from a heart ailment. Walton, who came to Picher in 1918 from Joplin Missouri, was a member of the Picher police force in 1935 and 1936. He was a World War I veteran and was a member of the American Legion post in Picher. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rosa Walton; a son, Donald Walton of the home, 111 South Columbus Street, Picher; a sister Mrs. Minnie Odem of Texas; two half-sisters, Mrs. Thelma Rhinehart of Galena Kansas, and Mrs. Mary Miller of Kansas City Missouri, and a half-brother, Ray Rader, address unknown. Funeral services will be announced by Thomas mortuary.

Funeral services for Dewey L. Walton, a retired Picher miner who died at the Veterans hospital, Muskogee Oklahoma, Monday night, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Picher First Baptist church. The Rev. Clyde Stilley will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairview cemetery at Joplin under direction of the Thomas funeral home. The Spriggs-Hance post No. 150, American Legion, will conduct military rites at the grave. Pallbearers will be Charles Bull, Bill Shouse, George Payton, Arthur Green, Guy Pearce and Ray Huffman.
