Walker, Roy
Abstract Data
The charge of a shotgun said to have been fired by one of four occupants of a motor car traveling west on East Second Street, Picher Oklahoma at 4:40 o'clock this morning shattered a large plate glass window in the front of the Walker drug store, 200 East Second Street, and made a hole six inches in diameter. A watchman was said by Roy Walker, proprietor of the store, to have told him the shot was fired from a fast-moving automobile in which four men were riding. The store had not yet been opened for the day. Walker said he believed it was the result of an old grudge and not due to any difference of sympathy in the mine strike situation. Immediately following the shooting sheriff's officers, together with Col. E. L. Head, were notified. An investigation was made and it was expected that several arrest would be made.
