Rites for John Jackson Vicory, 84 year old retired Quapaw Oklahoma blacksmith and farmer, will be conducted in the Full Gospel church there at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Robert Denton will officiate. A second service will be held in the cemetery at Hornet Missouri, at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Members of the IOOF lodge, of which he was a member for 55 years, will act as pallbearers and conduct special rites at the grave. Burial will be under direction of the Thomas funeral home of Picher Oklahoma. The body will lie in state at the chapel until the funeral hour. Vicory who had farmed near Welch Oklahoma before moving to Quapaw about five years ago, died at his home in Quapaw at 8:25 p.m. Friday. He had been ill for several months. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marty Vicory of the home, three sons, Charles E. Vicory of Joplin Missouri, Muriel Vicory of Harbor City California, and Elmer Vicory of Douthat Oklahoma; four daughters, Miss Frances Vicory of the home; Mrs. Nellie Griffith and Mrs. Elizabeth Armstrong, both of Chetopa Kansas, Route 3, and Mrs. Lois Stice of Welch Route 2; 27 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
