Abstract Data

1105 Kendras Way, Somerset Kentucky, died at 12:35 am, Saturday, Apr 13, 1996, after a long illness. He was 84. Mr. Van was born on Oct 22, 1911, in Galena Kansas to Charley Van and Rose Barber Van. They both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Junior Van, and his sister Thelma Downing. He worked as a carpenter at the Rialto Mine, Picher-Cardin Oklahoma area, and retired from the Assarco Mining Company, New Market Tennessee, where he had been the maintenance foreman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, North Miami Oklahoma, and of the Masonic Lodge, Commerce. Survivors include his wife, Emma Jean Crockett Van, of the home; one son, Sam Van, Danville Kentucky; one brother, Jess Van, Kelso Washington; two sisters, Imogene Jones and Peggy Lou Cole, both of Vancouver Washington; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held at 1 pm, Monday, Apr 15 by the Stith funeral home.
