67 year old retired miner and resident of Quapaw Oklahoma for 31 years before moving to Miami in 1951, died in Miami Baptist hospital at 1:15 a.m. today. He had been ill a short time. A member of the First Baptist church in Quapaw, Thomasson's home was at 3 K Street northeast, Miami. Survivors include four sons, Lloyd Thomasson, Henry Thomasson and Clyde Thomasson, all of Quapaw, and James Herman Thomasson of Miami; five daughters, Mrs. Rosa Ferris, Miami, Mrs. Alma Davis, Licking Missouri, Mrs. Etta Wurm, Kansas City Missouri, Mrs. Mamie Carl, Naylor Missouri, and Mrs. Verdie Purtle, Haywood California, 32 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Arrangements for services and burial will be announced by the Roberson-Hunter funeral home of Picher Oklahoma.

Funeral services for James Elmer Thomasson, 67, retired miner and former resident of Quapaw who died early Monday, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist church, Quapaw. The Rev. O. C. Bean, assisted by the Rev. M. R. Dareing, will officiate. The body will lie in state at the Quapaw home of a son, Henry Thomaason, from this evening until the funeral hour. Pallbearers will be Raymond Hansford, Bill Duree, Gordon Pliler, Claude White, Charlie Smith and Mack Hargrove. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami, under direction of the Robertson-Hunter funeral home, Picher.
