We must now think of J. Jay Thomas as having gone only on to the land where the flowers he so cherished here on earth are more fragrant and where the music he so loved is ever sweeter. We think of this man, who was a man among men, who walked through life quietly, but ever scattering cheer and good will, as having made the realms of heaven happy with his presence. J. Jay Thomas was a man who lived deeply. He was a man who lived with the family, was ever thoughtful of his noble wife, his lovely daughters and his splendid sons. He left his family an inheritance of gracious living, a sense of right and justice, a love for the finer things of life, and the knowledge that their husband and father had been a genteel man throughout his life. The sympathies of mining person of the entire field is extended to the family in their great sorrow. Although he is gone, his influence will continue throughout the years.
