a miner from Joplin Missouri, left the district for Wallace Idaho, in 1893. When he left the city had 4,000 residents and 75 saloons. On Swicegood's return in January 1913, he said he was surprised he didn't see one Street fight on Main Street. He said he didn't know if other miners from Jasper county Missouri that now lived in Idaho would believe that.
