Stuckey, C. C.
Abstract Data
The ten month old baby son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Stuckey was burned to death shortly after noon today when a fire, caused by an overheated stove, burned their home, on the Walker Mine lease, west of Picher Oklahoma. Two other small children in the house at the time escaped injury. Mr. Stuckey is employed at a mining mill nearby and was at work when the fire started. The mother had left the children in the house while she went to a neighbor's home a short distance away. It was while both parents were away that the stove set the wall afire and soon spread to the interior of the room. The fire was first noticed by Mr. Stuckey, who saw the house a mass of flames when he casually glanced from one of the mill windows. He rushed to his home in time to save his two older children, but the youngest was so badly burned that it died shortly after being taken from the house. The body of the child was taken in charge by an undertaking company in Picher. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
