75, of Baxter Springs Kansas, a professional engineer with Eagle-Picher Company from 1925, until retirement, died at 9 pm Saturday in St. John's hospital, Springfield Missouri. Born Aug 7, 1894, at Lewiston Missouri. Mr. Stroup was a graduate of the Rolla school of Mines and a veteran of World War I. He was a Methodist and a Mason. In 1968, the U. S. Dept. of Interior honored Mr. Stroup for outstanding service to the Bureau of Mines. He was a member of a number of mining and engineering groups. Survivors include two sisters-in law, Mrs. Ione Stroup and Mrs. Della Stroup of Baxter Springs Kansas... Services are set for 4 pm Tuesday at the Lewiston cemetery. Schurman funeral home of Baxter Springs is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contribution can be made to the American cancer society.
