Stephens, J. C. "Joe"

Miners of the field remember when J. C. Joe' Stephens, now a candidate for Cherokee county Kansas commissioner from the Third district, was drilling around Duenweg Missouri about 35 years ago, and later when he was a pioneer driller in the Picher Oklahoma field. Joe served as councilman in Baxter springs Kansas for several terms and his wise council was always of value in the city's governing body.
