Edward L. Standefer, pioneer mine operator in the Tri-State district, died at noon Tuesday at his home, 501 First avenue northeast. Death followed a long illness. He was 62 years old. Mr. Standefer came here from Missouri when the Oklahoma mining field was in its infancy. He and his two brothers were associated in the mining business and they developed the Emma Gordon Mine near Commerce. It was then known as the Standefer Mine. Mr. Standefer is survived by his widow, Mrs. Anna B. Standefer, four daughters, Mrs. John Loop of Miami, and Miss Alma Standefer, Miami and Francis Standefer, all of the home, and two brothers, Alvin P. Standefer and Erie L. Standefer, both of Miami. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. C. Stubblefield, pastor of the Calvary Baptist church, at 2:30 Thursday afternoon at the Standefer home. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery under direction of the Cooper undertaking company.

The funeral of Edward L. Standefer, well known as one of the pioneer mine operators in this district, will be at 2:30 Thursday afternoon at the family home, 501 First avenue northeast. Pallbearers will be George W. Nicely, George Bomford, Sam Lankard, Sam Sullivan, W. A. Wagoner and C. J. Fribley.
