Sparlin, of Quapaw Oklahoma, died Aug 26, 1942, age 47, at the Miami Baptist hospital at 1:10 o'clock, yesterday afternoon. He was a member of the Quapaw Masonic lodge of the Seneca M.W.A., and had served the Eagle-Picher Mining and Smelting Company as ground foreman the greater part of the time over a period of 15 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alsie Sparlin; a son, Edward Sparlin; a brother, George W. Sparlin, Ottawa Oklahoma; and two sisters, Mrs. A. H. Moore, Kansas City Kansas, and Mrs. C. E. Wells, Seneca Missouri. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist church, Quapaw, at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon, the Rev. M. R. Dareing officiating, assisted by the Rev. Billy Bain of Wheaton Missouri. Burial Aug 28, 1942, will be in the Seneca Missouri cemetery under the direction of the Durnil funeral home, Picher. Workers at the See-Sah Mine will gather at the church in a body.
