superintendent of the Vantage Mine in the western part of the city of Picher Oklahoma, who was stricken by paralysis Saturday is reported to be in a serious condition at Hot Springs Arkansas, where he has been taken for treatment. Mr. Sneed was considered an exceptionally strong man up to the moment he was stricken. He is about 45 years of age, the father of several children, all of whom are married. His wife, and two brothers, one from Tulsa Oklahoma and the other from Kansas, accompanied him to Hot Springs. Mr. Sneed was a veteran mine operator. He was superintendent of the Vantage Mine at Commerce Oklahoma and when that property was worked out he moved the plant to the Picher lease about two years ago and has been in charge ever since. Earl Anderson, ground foreman of the Vantage, has been appointed superintendent in the place of Mr. Sneed.
