passed away Sep 29, 1951, age 71, at 1:30 o'clock, Saturday afternoon, at his home. Funeral services were held Oct 3, 1951, Wednesday afternoon for William Emmitt Simpson, Hockerville Oklahoma man. The retired miner was born December 29, 1879 in Kentucky and had lived in Hockerville since 1922. He is survived by his wife, Eunice Simpson of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Gladys Hardcastle of Garvin; Helen Simpson of the home, and Mrs. Dorothy Greenlee of Hockerville; eight sons, Carl Simpson of Phoenix Arizona, Bob Simpson of Glendale, Earnest L. Simpson of Hockerville, Sgt. Paul Simpson of Camp Chaffee Arkansas, Pfc. Harold Simpson, Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, Pfc. Jesse Simpson, Seattle Washington, Homer Ray Simpson and Wilbur Eugene Simpson of the home, 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services were held at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church in Hockerville with the Rev. Roy Walker officiating. Pallbearers were Verl Keller, Faye Beller, Jack Simpson, Cecil Haymaker, Finis Bryan and Richard Clogston. Burial was in the Oak Hill cemetery at Galena, under the direction of the Morton-Lundy funeral home.
