of Commerce Oklahoma, died Thursday, Sep 18, 1997, at 5:40 am at the Quapaw Oklahoma Nursing home. He was 74. Mr. Sedberry was born Jan 25, 1923, in Treece Kansas, to Patrick Sedberry and Eva Curtis Sedberry. He had made his home in Commerce for the past 37 years and moved there from Peoria Oklahoma. A veteran, he served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Miami. Mr. Sedberry had worked in the lead and zinc mines until his retirement. He was united in marriage to Althea Sloan, Sep 12, 1942, in Joplin Missouri. She survives, of their Commerce home. Other survivors include a son, Dale Sedberry of Foosland Illinois; a daughter Barbara Sedberry of the home; a brother, Adolph Sedberry of Grants New Mexico; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Service will be Monday at 10 am at Paul Thomas funeral home chapel, Picher Oklahoma, with the Rev. Sam Carper officiating. Burial will follow in the G.A.R. cemetery, Miami, with Paul Thomas funeral home of Picher directing. Pallbearers include Wayne Sloan, Clayton White, Jerry Allgood, Jake Reed, John Cousatte, Sr. and John Cousatte, Jr. the family will received friends today from 3-4 pm at the Paul Thomas funeral home chapel of Picher.
