61 year old mine operator died at his home on 325 South Francis Street, Picher Oklahoma, Saturday afternoon. Mr. Schofield has been associated with the mining industry for the last nine years as manager of the Cameron-Henderson Mine. For many years prior to that, he was foreman in Eagle-Picher Company. He had been in ill health for several months. Schofield was well known thru the district. He is survived by his widow, Dorothy Schofield of the home; one brother, Harvey Scholfield of Quapaw Oklahoma and five sisters, Mrs. Lillie Shears of Galena Kansas; Mrs. Mae Ross of Joplin Missouri; Mrs. Mary Barbra of Colorado; and Mrs. Georgia French of Miami. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 Monday morning at 10:30 Monday morning in the Picher Methodist church. Rev. R. J. Palmer, pastor of the Methodist church and Rev. C. E. Bergen, Baptist minister, officiated. Burial was in the G.A.R. cemetery at Miami, under the direction of the Thomas funeral home.
