age 63, of 501 South Maple, Quapaw Oklahoma, died Sunday at 1:40 pm at the Bradshaw Memorial hospital, Miami. He was admitted there Saturday. Born May 4, 1908, at Turkey Ford Oklahoma, Mr. Rogers, had lived in the Quapaw area for 60 years. He was a retired miner, having worked for the Big Chief Mine for several years. He was a member of the Spring River Indian Baptist church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillie Rogers, of the home; two sons, Buddy Rogers, Quapaw, and Leonard Rogers, McAlester Oklahoma; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Sharp, Quapaw, Mrs. Monta Lasley and Mrs. Julia Bendure, both of Miami Route I, and Mrs. Wilma Francis Street, Oklahoma City; three step-daughters, Mrs. C. B. Petitt, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Wasa Lee Tyner, Dewey Oklahoma, and Mrs. Wanda Hylton, Miami; two half-sisters, Mrs. Mahdeena Hemphill and Mrs. Escel White, both of Quapaw; one half- brother, Martin Smith, Hood River Oregon; 25 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Edward Franklin, Terry Bender, Clifford Dushane, Clyde Bluejacket, Edward Quapaw and Frankie Frazier. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 pm at the Spring River Indian Baptist church, east of Quapaw, with the Rev. Fred VonMoss officiating. Burial will be in Peoria cemetery, southeast of Quapaw under the direction of Paul Thomas funeral home of Picher Oklahoma.
