According to word received in Miami Saturday, a man by the name of J. A. Ripley, was found dead at Afton Oklahoma Friday night on a south bound passenger train. The man's ticket read from Joplin Missouri to Quapaw Oklahoma. There were several checks made payable to miners of the district on the body when found. The conductor according to word received here tried several times to arouse the man, thinking him asleep, but close inspection showed the man to be dead. Advice from Afton last Saturday night placed the man's age to be between 63 and 65.
