Abstract Data
Funeral services for James Franklin Rentfrow, 65 years old, who died suddenly at 11:15 o'clock yesterday morning, a week after his marriage to Mrs. Bertha C. Hammer of Joplin Missouri, will be conducted at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the chapel of the Hurlbut undertaking company. The Rev. E. W. Love, pastor of the Bethany Presbyterian church will officiate, and burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Mr. Rentfrow had been in ill health about a year, but his condition was not considered serious. Standing by a table in the dining room at the home of his son, H. E. Rentfrow, twentieth Street and Duqesne Road, he suddenly collapsed. When members of the family reached him he was dead. Heart disease was the cause of death. Rentfrow resided in Miami until about a year ago when he moved here to live with his son. Mr. Rentfrow owned and operated a drill rig in the Tri-State Mining field for many years. Two other sons, Clyde C. Rentfrow and Clarence Rentfrow, of Miami, and two daughters, Mrs. W. M. Thomas, of Miami, and Mrs. Everett Allen, of Joplin, survive.
