Abstract Data
78 years old, died at the home of George Southerland, northwest of Miami about 2 o'clock Monday. Illness, complicated with his age, caused his death. His daughter, Mrs. George Southerland, with which he had lived for the last nine years, is in a hospital at Joplin Missouri, and could not be at his bedside during his last illness, nor will she be able to attend the funeral, it is said. Mr. Reed was a member of the Old Fellows' Lodge and a veteran of the Civil War. He served in the federal army. He leaves besides Mrs. Southerland, two sons, G. A. Reed of Miami, and L. O. Reed of St. Louis. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
