Ratliff, Richard E.

Miami, died at 9:08 pm, Monday, Sept 7, 1998, at Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami after an illness. He was 58. Mr. Ratliff was born Sept 27, 1939, in Newton county Missouri, to John Ratliff and Lola Priest Ratliff. He had lived in Miami for the past two years, moving from Joplin Missouri. He worked for Eagle-Picher Company Industries in the battery division at Joplin Missouri for the past 39 years. He was a member of the first United Methodist Church of Miami and the Elks Lodge in Joplin. He is survived by one son, Matthew Ratliff, of the home; two daughters, Susan Long, North Miami, and John Ratliff, Commerce; two sisters, Sally Dold Kansas City Kansas, and Sheila Witte, Miami; and three grandchildren. The service will be at 10 am Thursday at the Paul Thomas funeral home of Miami with the Rev. Clyde Stilley officiating. Burial will be in Van Buren cemetery near Wentworth Missouri. Pallbearers will be Jon Long, Jeremy Boyd, John Ratliff, Jr., Marty Ratliff, Jim Dold and Paul Witte. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at the Paul Thomas funeral home of Miami.
