Funeral services for Robert M. Ransom, Baxter Springs Kansas miner and veteran of World War I, were to be held at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Hoskins-Wene Funeral in Baxter Springs. The Rev. A H. Shawgo, of Columbus Kansas was to be in charge of the service, and burial was to be in the Baxter Springs cemetery. Mr. Ransom died at 12:45 o'clock Sunday morning at the Veterans' hospital in Excelsior Springs Missouri, following an illness of one-year's duration. A native of the state of Arkansas, he moved to Baxter Springs, 25 years ago from Treece Kansas. Surviving are three brothers, W. P. Ransom of North Bend California, John Ransom of Baxter Springs and Fred Ransom of California.
