49 years old, died Thursday night in a tuberculosis sanitarium at Talihina Oklahoma following several years illness. He had been a mill worker and had resided in Commerce Oklahoma for 30 years... He was born Dec 1, 1899 at Minert Missouri and departed this life on Dec 16, 1948 at the age of 49 years and 4 days. He was married to Miss Norma Benninghoff at the Baptist parsonage in Commerce on Dec 23, 1922. Mr. and Mrs. Pottoroff have resided here ever since. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Norma Pottorff, 206 South Maple Street, Commerce, a teacher in the Commerce schools many years; his mother, Mrs. Cora VanLeer of Phoenix Arizona; a brother, Earl Pottorff of Compton California; and a sister, Mrs. J. S. Pittman of El Paso Texas. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in the First Baptist church, with the Rev. J. Grover Scales officiating. Burial was in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami, under direction of the Mitchelson funeral home, with Picher Oklahoma IOOF lodge No. 596, in charge of graveside rites.
