70250 East 60 Road, Quapaw Oklahoma, died at 5 am Wednesday, May 8, 1996, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was 77. Mr. Piercefield was born Mar 17, 1919, in Quapaw to Wesley Piercefield and Anna Elizabeth Richards Piercefield. He married Ercell Loretta Sherwood on Dec 7, 1938 at Miami. She preceded him in death in 1995. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Preston Piercefield in 1993. Mr. Piercefield lived in the Quapaw area all his life. He joined the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was a retired lead and zinc miner. He attended the Baptist Church in Quapaw. Survivors include two sons, Charles Piercefield, Quapaw, and Bob Piercefield, Quapaw; a daughter, Loretta Turner, Quapaw; a sister, Ruby Orr, Joplin Missouri; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services are pending with the Paul Thomas funeral home, Picher Oklahoma.

...Services will be 2 pm Saturday, May 11, in the First Baptist Church, Quapaw, with Rev. Loyd Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Missouri cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rocky Piercefield, Jason Piercefield, Travis Piercefield, Vince Piercefield, Justin Turner and Devon Turner. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 pm tonight at the Paul Thomas funeral home. Services are under the directions of the Paul Thomas funeral home of Picher.
