Galena Kansas July 24 Robert Petty, 72 years old, a Galena resident many years, died this morning following a several months' illness, from a complication of diseases. Mr. Petty was born in Paris Arkansas, and came to Galena with his parents when a small boy. He was interested in mining for a number of years. His home is at 2024 Galena avenue. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Clyde Powell, Mrs. Max Kennedy and Mrs. Bob Hulvey, all of Galena, and Mrs. Gladys Treadway of Parsons Kansas; three sons, Don Petty of Eureka California, Otto Petty of Exeter, and John W. Petty of San Diego California; a brother, John Petty of Galena; a sister, Mrs. Bert Cutright of Galena; fourteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Boice undertaking company.

Galena Kansas, Jul 25 Funeral services for Robert Petty, 72 years old, who died yesterday morning, will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Boice funeral chapel. The Rev. Ben Morris Ridpath, pastor of the First Methodist church in Joplin, will be in charge of the services. Burial will be in Hill Crest cemetery. The body will lie in state at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Clyde Powell, 1801 Joplin Street, until the funeral hour.
