Goodman Missouri, March 14 John Petty, 54 years old, of Goodman, a construction worker, died at 5:45 o'clock this afternoon in the Jasper county Missouri tuberculosis hospital at Webb City Missouri, where he had been a patient two months. He was born May 6, 1897, near Powell, in McDonald county Missouri, and had been a resident of the county virtually a lifetime. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Pearl Petty; three sons, Joe Petty of Joplin Missouri, Floyd Petty of Gravity Iowa, and Robert Petty of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Bernice Parsley of Fort Worth Texas; Mrs. Lucille Rice of Goodman Missouri; Mrs. Ruby DuBoise of Grove Oklahoma; Ruth Ann Petty and Margie Petty of the home and a sister, Mrs. Maude West of Stella Route 2. The body was received by the Williams funeral home.

Funeral services for John Petty, 54 years old, who died yesterday afternoon in the Jasper county tuberculosis hospital, will be conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Union church, south of Stella. Burial will be in Owsley cemetery, south of Stella, under the direction of the Williams funeral home. Pallbearers will be Alf Thrasher, Allie Higgs, Bert Cowan, Dan Pendelton, Rex Evans and Dwight Newell.
