Petty, Homer

30 year old Picher Oklahoma miner, was charged by county attorney Richard Smith last week with assault with a dangerous weapon. The charge was the result of an alleged altercation the night of Oct 3. Petty was arrested by Sheriff Jim Allemann after telephoning the sheriff to "come and get" him. The alleged incident took place on the Street, in which Paul McNeely, also of Picher received knife wounds. Petty was released from county jail after posting a $1,000 appearance bond at his arraignment. His hearing date has been set for Oct 15.
