...died Sunday at a nursing home in Picher Oklahoma. He had lived in Commerce most of his life. Retired from Eagle-Picher, he was a World War II Marine veteran...survivors include his wife, Leona Petitt of the home; one step-son, Jack Young, Commerce; one daughter, Connie Cabanela, Pamona California; two brothers, Howard Petitt of Kellogg Idaho, and Jack Petitt of Picher; four sisters, Helen Huddleston of Picher, Opal Brobst of Houston Texas, Omah Vaughan of Commerce and Faye Green of Wichita Kansas; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 pm Tuesday at the First Christian Church, Commerce. Minister Jack Oakes will officiate. Pallbearers will be Durward Ellis, Bill Hicks, Wilbur Hartman, Marion Allgood, Merl Smith and Wesley Peterson. Military rites will be performed at the graveside by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ex-Prisoners of War and Disable American Veterans. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami under the direction of Jim Thomas and Son funeral home, Commerce.
