Perkins, Frank M. Sr.

Abstract Data

A retired real estate dealer who was a mining prospector in the Joplin Missouri field in the early days, has always maintained a record of promptness and regularity in all of his business dealings as well as in private life. Mr. Perkins' record of attendance was broken March 16 when he missed the first meeting of the Baxter Springs Kansas Kiwanis club since its organization in 1922. In the 14? years of the club's activity, Perkins had attended each of its 754 meetings. As well as having held various offices in the club, he was been a member of the flower committee each year. Himself a great lover of flowers, he maintains a flower garden which attracts hundreds of visitors to his home each year. Although not definitely connected with the mining industry for a number of years, Mr. Perkins has aided many mining families in establishing homes in this district. He is now a patient of a Joplin hospital, however, he maintains his splendid spirt of optimism and his ready wit brings smiles to the faces of nurses, doctors, patients and visitors alike.
